Directions:
Cookies:
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
Chill at least one hour (overnight is better).
Roll to 1/4 in thickness, cut into shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with white or colored sugar. (Not necessary if frosting)
Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes, until delicately brown.
Frosting:
Cream one stick olio (8 tbsp). Slowly add powdered sugar until gravely. Add a few drops of milk until mixture is smooth. Add 1 tsp vanilla.
After frosting cookies, **let stand for at least an hour
Notes:
**Must let sit for at least an hour before you eat or it doesn’t taste right!
