Ingredients:
Pastry for crust-
- 2/3 cup lard or 1 cup crisco
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tb sugar
- 4-5 tb cold water
Filling-
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- dash of salt
- 6 cups apples (about 8)
- 2 tb butter
- 2 tb lemon juice
Directions:
Mix pastry ingredients in bowl, place in pie pan. Leave enough to put a layer of crust on top of filling. Mix filling ingredient in bowl and place in crust. Place top layer of crust over filling. Cut slits in top. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top. Bake at 350 for 40-50 mins.
