Buttercream Icing

Portion: 1 serving
Ingredients:

1/2 c shortening

1/2 c butter or margarine

1 t vanilla extract

4 c powdered sugar

2 T milk

Directions:

In a large bowl, cream shortening and butter with an electric mixer

add vanilla

gradually add sugar, beating well on medium speed

add milk and mix at meduim speed until light and fluffy

keep bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready for use

refrigerated icing keeps for up to 2 weeks, rewhip before using

Notes:
makes about 3 cups
