Ingredients:
- 1 14 oz pkg carmels
- 2/3 C evaporated milk divided
- 1 18.25 oz pkg carmel flavored cake mix
- 3/4 C butter melted
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 1/2 C walnut halves
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Unwrap caramels and place in medium saucepan. Add 1/2 C evaporated milk.
- Cook over low heat until caramels melt. Stirring often.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Combine remianing 1/3 C evaporated milk, the dry cake mix, and next 3 ingredients.
- Stir until just blended
- Spread half of mixture into a lightly greased 9in square pan
- Chill remianing mix.
- Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
- Cool in pan for 5 minutes.
- Pour warm caramel mixture onto brownie layer.
- Sprinkle with walnuts.
- Spoon remaning half of cake mixture into pan.
- Bake at 350 for 25 more minutes.
- Cool completely in pan.
- Cover and chill before cutting
Notes:
Devils Food Cake mix may be substituted for caramel cake. Omit the cinnamon and bake for 25 minutes instead of 30.
