Shrimp Newburg

Ingredients:

2 1/2-3 Lbs shrimp

lemon slices

onion slices

1/2 tsp red pepper

Sauce:

1 stick butter

7 tbsp flour

1 1/2 C milk

1 1/2 C half and half

2 tsp worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp dry mustard

1 tsp salt

1 tsp white pepper

1 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1 whole pimento pepper chopped fine

1 3 oz slice Gruyere cheese 

Directions:

Peel and devien shrimp. Boil in water with lemon, onion, and red pepper. Cook 3-5 minutes. DRain and set aside.

For Sauce:

Melt butter in large saucepan. Add flour and allow to froth. Add milks and allow to thicken. Add the rest of the ingredients. Heat thoroughly. Add shrimp to heated sauce about 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve over cooked rice.
