Steak in a Bag

Portion: 8 servings
Ingredients:
1 cup bread crumbs
2-3 pounds top sirloin, cut 2 1/2 inches thick
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
2 teaspoons seasoned salt
2 1/2 teaspoons seasoned pepper
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
Directions:
1. Trim fat from steak

2. Combine butter, oil, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl. Spread on all sides of steak.

3. Mix bread crumbs and cheese. Press into butter mixture, coating steak well.

4. Place steak in a clean brown paper bag. Fold end over and staple. Refrigerate several hours.

5. Bring steak to room temperature (30 minutes) and set in a pan before cooking.

6. Bake in 375 preheated oven for 30 minutes. Raise the temperature to 425 for 15 minutes longer for medium rare.

7. Remove from oven and let rest for five minutes. Carve thinly.
