Ingredients:
- 1 C light Karo syrup
- 2 1/4 C sugar
- 1 C water
- 2 C chopped unsalted peanuts
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp vanilla
Directions:
- IN a heavy saucepan conbine karo syrup, sugar and water. Stir to blend.
- PLace over medium high heat and bring to a boil.
- Stir until sugar has dissolved.
- Continue cooking without stirring until the mixture reaches 250 on a candy thermometer.
- Stir in nuts and continue cooking until mixture reaches 300. Stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in salt, butter, baking soda and vanilla.
- quickly pour mixture onto greased baking sheet and spread into a thin layer.
- As candy starts to cool turn it over with your hands and stretch it out even more until it is very thin.
- Allow candy t cool completely.
- Break into rough bite suzed pieces.
- Store in tightly covered container.
