Red River Beef Stroganoff

Portion: 8 servings
Ingredients:

2 lbs sirloin steak cut into thin strips

1/4 C flour

1/2 C butter

2 large onions chopped

1 10.5 oz can beef broth

1tsp dried basil 

salt and pepper to taste

1 4.5 oz sliced mushrooms

1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce

1 C sour cream

 

Directions:
Dredge meat in flour. In a skillet melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat. saute onions until tender. Remove from pan and set aside. melt remaining butter and brown meat on all sides. Add broth, basil, salt, pepper, mushrooms, Worchestershire sauce and onions. Cook untilmixture thickens. About 5 minutes. Just before serving add sour cream. heat thoroughly but do not boil. Serve over rice or noodles.
