Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups flour
1/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter
1/4 cup water

2 1/2 lbs. McIntosh Apples
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. But in butter with pastyr blender until mixutre has the consistance of course meal. Sprinkle in just enough water to moisten dough. Gather dough into ball. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surfaceto a 12" rd. fit into a 10" pir plate. Turn over hanging pastry flash with rim. Refrigerate until ready to fill.
Filling
Beat egg slightly in a large bowl. Stir in sour cream, sugar, flour, vanilla, salt until mixture is smooth. Add apples, stirring gently just to coat (Paring & slicing apples into cream mixture helps stop browning). Spoon into shell
topping
Combine 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, 1/2 cup flour, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 cup chopped walnuts.
Bake into very hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes, lower 350 degrees adn backe 35 minutes.
Notes:
Remove pies from oven, Sprinle topping evenly over filling. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
