Egg Cassserole

Time: 1 Hour
Portion: 8 servings
Ingredients:

  • 6-12 slices of bread
  • 1 LB grated cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 C milk
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 Lb sliced mushrooms sauted
  • 1 Lb fried diced bacon or pork sausage
  •  Topping:
  • 3 C crushed corn flakes miexed with 1 C butter

Directions:

  • Beat eggs, milk, mustard and salt. Start layering casserole dish with white bread, then cheese, bacon/or sausage, mushrooms. 
  • Top with a layer of bread.
  • Slowly pour egg mixture over all.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Before baking sprinkle cornflakes on top then pour butter over them.
  • Bake at 325 uncovered for 1 hour.
